Louise Crossman – Founder and principal
Before founding Crossman Consulting, I built my understanding of the political and policy landscape from just about every angle – giving me a unique view of the way power works, where it really sits, and how to best access it:
In Federal Government – as Advisor to Andrew Leigh, Julie Collins, and Ed Husic during the Rudd Gillard Government
In ACT Government – as Senior Planning Advisor to Mick Gentleman in the ACT Barr Labour Government
Within political parties – President of the ACT branch of the Labor Party, candidate in the 2008 and 2024 ACT elections, and as a campaigner for multiple state, territory, and Federal elections.
Inside the public service – as a Workplace Relations policy specialist.
I have worked with and secured agreement across multiple states and territories to achieve major national reforms, built strong relationships across the spectrum of politics, and developed a deep technical expertise in industrial relations, driven by my other passion - workplace relations, employment law, and training and education.
I’m a lateral thinker, I know when to push and when to pull back, and I use the language of government to ensure your message lands where it matters. My approach combines lived-experience, well-honed communication skills, and an extensive network of relationships across the political spectrum.
I have also graduated a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University, and Masters of Employment Relations from Griffith University.
